Teaching Topics

Below is a list of talks I already have prepared, however I'd welcome discussing ideas with you if you have a specific topic or text in mind.

Flourish - three sessions

Based on David's Psalm 52, this teaching considers what it means to flourish as a Gospel-centered woman now dwelling in the Kingdom of God. Unlike the world's chase after flourishing in this life, as "redeemed flourishers", we pursue Christ and find abundant life in Him.

​

The Book of Ruth – three or four sessions

The Gospel in the book of Ruth is a powerful teaching on God’s redemptive work in the life of the helpless and hopeless motivated by His Hesed (loving kindness). It is a story of His sovereign grace, working all things together for His glory and the good of His people, ultimately in Christ Jesus. Perfect for a weekend retreat. Listen to a sample here.

Christ in Me, the Hope of Glory – three sessions

This is a three-part teaching on living life as the Gospel-centered woman. It starts by unpacking and explaining what the Gospel is, and then how is affects our daily lives as women. 

   

The Story of Redemption from Genesis to Revelation – one or two sessions

In one longer session (or two shorter sessions), this teaching moves through the pages of Scripture showing the unified story line of God’s heart for His people to be with Him, under His rule and reign and experiencing His blessing. It is engaging, taught using large hand-drawn visuals, ending with the powerful picture of God’s people around His Throne in Revelation. Excellent for a one-day retreat, Bible study kick-off event, or supplemental women’s ministry training event. Listen to a sample here.

Adopted as His Daughter – one session

This very personal talk tells the story of our son’s adoption from Thailand and how that has taught me of my own adoption by my Heavenly Father into his forever family. Recommended for Moms groups, adoption seminars, smaller intimate settings, Bible studies, women’s worship nights.

Raising Counter-Cultural Kids – one session

A very interactive session looking at the values of the culture of the Kingdom of God versus the culture of our world and how the two oppose one another. Then raising awareness and offering practical help on what it looks like to have a Kingdom of God culture in our home while living in the culture of our world today. Ideal for Moms groups and gatherings.

Raising Kids with a Servant’s Heart – one session

This session considers the difference between teaching our kids to serve and teaching our kids to be servants, following in the footsteps of Christ, who humbled Himself and became a servant. Also a great option for a Moms gathering. Listen to a sample here.

Discipleship Training - How to Study the Bible for Yourself – one or two sessions

Walking through the three-step Bible study method of observing, interpreting and applying the Scriptures, this training is very practical and hands-on. Women will walk away feeling empowered to read and study the Word for themselves.

Discipleship Training - Reading the Bible One to One in a Discipleship Relationship – one session

Spring boarding off of the three-step Bible study method approach mentioned above, this session will give women the tools and encouragement they need to be able to sit down and read the Bible one on one with a neighbor, friend, co-worker, spouse or kids. It teaches David Helm’s book One to One Bible Reading.

Discipleship Training – How to Read the Bible with Your Kids – one session

Many parents don’t feel confident or equipped enough to be able to sit down and read the Bible with their children. This training utilizes my curriculum studying the book of Acts to teach parents a simple approach and offer them a few tools they can use at home around the kitchen table with their families. Marriage Focus

Greg and I have several years’ experience walking with couples through both pre-marital and marital counseling using a variety of resources. As a couple that has had to work hard (and still works hard!) at marriage ourselves, we are passionate about how the Gospel can strengthen and restore even the most broken relationship. Together we feel called to work hand in hand towards encouraging other husbands and wives and offering them practical tools that can help build strong marriages in Christ. Our teaching and speaking experience includes large event breakout sessions, panel discussions, smaller trainings and marriage enrichment classes. Our style is informal, authentic, practical and conversational in nature.

Marriage Topics include: A Gospel-centered marriage, Communication, Conflict Resolution, Boundaries, Sex and Intimacy, and Parenting. Please contact us if you are interested in both of us coming to speak on a marriage topic at your event.
